We joined Bedford and Peterborough Highland Pipe Bands to commemorate the annual service of Remembrance for the Highland Division at Bedford Foster Rd Cemetary.
Olney Pancake Race!
History and Tradition
No one is quite certain how the world famous Pancake Race at Olney originated. Tradition declares that the race was first run in the year 1445, on Shrove Tuesday and the whole day was given over to a festival of celebration, pranks and pastimes.
The race continued through the centuries, and whilst many other local customs died, and the race itself may have lapsed many times, such lapses never caused the race to be entirely forgotten by the womenfolk of Olney.

It was a great show, a wonderful mix of history, education, bagpipes, horses and loud bangs!
Operation Market Harborough’s inaugural show took place over the weekend of the 5th and 6th August 2023. at Market Harborough Showground, Leicestershire.

John Newton (1725–1807) began his career as a sailor . Eventually, he became an Anglican minister.
Newton is best known for his widely loved and timeless hymn 'Amazing Grace'

Queens Jubilee
Wintringham Pipers played at two different Platinum Jubilee events in June 2022. This occasion, in honor of HM Queen Elizabeth II, was historically significant as it is an event unlikely to be repeated in the years to come.
The tune, "Diu Regnare", was composed by Stuart Liddell MBE ,as a tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II, on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee, June 2022.
